Project Brainstorm is experimental analogue, cameraless photography that explores the theme of epilepsy, a brain disorder causing seizures. The inspiration is drawn from personal epileptic auras, translating these sensations into abstract photographs. While epilepsy is somewhat stigmatised, perhaps a bit frightening, my aim is to interpret it visually in a beautiful way. The creation process involves a unique technique that emphasises hands-on material engagement. Light-sensitive paper is exposed using hand-painted negatives, resulting in abstract images. The project was initially developed in a colour darkroom and later expanded into black and white, providing additional contrast between individual prints.
